It was forty years ago that DDS were born, after deciding to enter, and subsequently win, a remix contest and unknowingly to begin a long lasting career as two guys having fun with music. And now we circle back around, this time judging a similar contest for a song performed by one of the very same artists from 40 years back; MC G.L.O.B.E. and the legendary rap star; Sha-Rock, known as the first female rapper. We had a good time judging the entries, and enjoyed hearing everyone else’s take on remixing the same record. We whittled it all down to the best three, and then picked the winner. We also participated in the new project by making our own remix of the record, and we're happily giving this away as a freebie to the universe, a gift from us to all of you!

The original mix we worked with really is a great track, expertly and lovingly produced by DJ Laz-e and his partner DJ Control. MC G.L.O.B.E. and Sha-Rock really make it their own, along with fiery scratching to match by Dj's Flip, Control, Laz-E, and Cutmaster Jay. Also known as the "D22 Turntable Quartet"

Amazingly, the two veteran rappers sound just as supreme as they did at the dawn of rap and hip hop records in the early'80s.

We included lots of references to old (really) old school hip hop and rap from early to mid ‘80s, trying to keep it all before 1985. I think we pulled it off. Making a special guest appearance is good friend ADA with an extremely unique scratch solo.

I find it incredible that in our past 40 years WC Fields never made an appearance! Well he finally does, and wraps up the whole piece with a bite from one of his funniest routines.
